Craft reviews

We review the work, not the window display.

Polished Craft reads a maker by the seams, the joinery, and the finish. Each review names the criteria we weighed, points to the standards worth checking, and never invents a rating.

How a review is weighed

  • Materials. What the work is made from, and whether it is named plainly.
  • Construction. How parts are joined, and whether the joins are meant to last.
  • Finish. The surface, the edges, the small corrections a careful hand leaves.
  • Standards. Which published guidance or disclosure the maker can stand behind.
  • We describe what we examined before we offer a view, so the reasoning is visible.
  • We link the standard or consumer guidance instead of asserting a number we cannot show.
  • We separate a matter of taste from a matter of construction, and we say which is which.
